Today we attended another interesting opening of my Southampton artist/client, Bob Lelle, who also has one of his NEO-POP works in the Pompidou in Paris , next to a pop work by Andy Warhol. The ambience was lovely, the refreshments were great, Bob looked terrific, and his 26 small works were very whimsical, clever, and “tres amuse”, sure to sell quickly.
The Opening of Graphics Exhibit by Bob Lelle at Pierre’s
03:00 pm – 06:00 pm
Bob Lelle, 24 Glenview Drive (studio), Southampton, NY. 11968.
Southampton artist Bob Lelle will be exhibit his “L’Alphabet de la Musique”, at Pierre’s restaurant/gallery….a show of 26 “musical” letters with a whimsical, upbeat tempo and rhythm that graphically and dimensionally tweaks everything from Mozart to Heavy Metal to Madonna.
Bob Lelle is a great guy, with so many cool experiences. As an art director at an ad agency, he once interviewed Andy Warhol for a position, and turned him down! He said he was obviously talented, but just not right for that particular job.
Appreciate your positive comments and support. As it turned out, a collector loved the “L’Alphabet de la Musique” so much that she bought the entire collection! FYI this is the 5th complete alphabet that has been sold…in its entirety. My next show at Pierre’s (June) will be “L’Alphabet de la Mode”, inspired by a commission I did for a top Ralph Lauren exec. I’m also doing an alphabet for a gallery in Nantucket for the Fall. See you at Pierre’s in June? Peut -etre?
Dear Bob: Congratulations to you on all your success, so graphically demonstrated! Of course, we will attend your next cool opening – thank you for the invitation!!
