ABRIDGED BIO OF CHRISTINA STOW

Christina Stow, photographer and student at Stony Brook University, informs her eclectic, edgy photography with her background in film, video, graphic design, and computer consulting.

Her work has been sold at the Guild Hall, East Hampton, New York and the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, New York. She has had group and solo exhibits at the Lyceum Gallery, the East End Arts Council Gallery, River-head, New York, the Water Mill Museum Gallery, Water Mill, New York, and the Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, New York. In 2010, Christina was part of a juried, three-person, three-week, art exhibition at the Remsenberg Academy, Remsenberg, New York, while exhibiting at the Mills Pond House Gallery in St. James, N.Y. She sold work at the Martha Clara Vineyard, Riverhead, New York. In May and June, 2011, she showed at the Ashawagh Hall, East Hampton, New York, and the Water Mill Museum Gallery, Water Mill, New York. Dozens of her works have been published in the biannual arts magazine, “East End Elements”.

One of her most striking and popular photographs is “Lunar Landscape”, 2009 All Rights Reserved. This 50 inch wide panorama is comprised of a series of washed, dried, cracked, white, jumbo eggshells, creating reflections and shadows, on glass. The effect is a craggy moonscape. This photograph was a winner in June of the 2010 A.S.M.P. (American Society of Media Professionals) “Image 10” national contest. This photo was exhibited in N.Y.C. at the AIR Gallery.
